The Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure works closely with Headquarters, providing staff and volunteers to help carry out national events in the Commonwealth. We are truly thankful for the passionate individuals that participate in these wonderful programs year after year.
Passionately Pink for the Cure™

Passionately Pink for the Cure® is a fundraising and awareness program. It’s a simple but effective way for groups around the country to show their support for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
In just three years, Passionately Pink has raised more than $11 million to fund breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment programs, with more than $2.5 million going to participating Affiliates. We hope to raise $4.5 million in 2009 and have increased the Affiliates’ share to 75% of funds raised!
Anyone can participate in Passionately Pink for the Cure! Groups pick a day (or days), anytime throughout the year, to wear pink and make a donation to Komen for the Cure. Recruit companies, religious or social groups, schools, clubs, friends and family to go Passionately Pink for the Cure® and have them register at www.passionatelypink.org . Registered groups receive a participation kit that includes posters to promote their day, breast health information and Passionately Pink for the Cure pins for participants to wear to show their support for the cure.

Rally for the Cure®

Rally for the Cure, presented by Conde Nast Publications, is a program with a goal to increase breast health awareness among amateur women golfers and tennis players or group dining parties by supporting the mission of Susan G Komen for the Cure. A registration fee of $20 per person entitles each Rally participant to enter a closest-to-the-pin contest at a designated par 3-hole for golfers, valuable life-saving breast health information, valuable prizes for a lucky winner and take-home gifts for all. Educational information is provided by Komen and is distributed to every entrant, along with the symbolic pink ribbon pin designed exclusively for Rally for the Cure. In addition, each participant is entitled to a one-year subscription of Golf for Women, Golf Digest, SELF or Bon Appetit magazine. The primary objective of Rally for the Cure is one of education and increasing awareness about breast health and breast cancer. However, since its inception in 1996 more than $38 million has been generated from program participants to support research and outreach programs through Komen.
Komen Affiliates are eligible to participate in the Rally Affiliate Program and qualify to receive a minimum of $5,000 from the Rally program.

LPGA Golf Clinics for Women This year marks the 18th year of the LPGA Golf Clinics for Women. Designed specifically for the female golfer, there will be 15 one-day clinics held in locations throughout the United States. The clinics are scheduled to take place March 16 through August 31, 2009. The clinics serve to educate women on the importance of early detection and raise funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure through a silent auction, which is held throughout the day at the event.
The clinics are suited for golfers of all skill levels and attendees are matched with players of similar ability to make the learning experience both comfortable and challenging. Players receive instruction, including full swing, putting and short game, on-course playing lessons and an exhibition by an LPGA touring professional. There is an 8:1 student to instructor ratio and all skill levels are welcome – from those who have never picked up a club to women who have been playing golf for years. Please visit www.lpgagolfclinicsforwomen.com for additional information.

Ford Warriors in Pink®

INTRODUCING THE FORD ADVANTAGE PLAN TEST-DRIVE PROGRAM CREATED TO SUPPORT SUSAN G. KOMEN FOR THE CURE®
In times like these, Ford believes that giving back to the community is more important than ever. As you may be aware, in addition to our ongoing National Sponsorship of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series, we’re giving our Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dealers the opportunity to help Ford raise up to $1 million for Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. In addition, local Ford Dealers will be given the option to match Ford’s donation—up to $1,000 per dealership.
THE FORD ADVANTAGE PLAN
Now, just when America needs it most, Ford makes it easier for customers to get into a Ford Motor Company vehicle. It’s called the Ford Advantage Plan. While others say there’s no credit available, Ford Credit can get people the financing they need, including rates as low as 0% APR. Customers can check for pre-approval online at ford.com. What’s more, if they lose their paycheck, Ford will make vehicle payments for up to a year.
THE FORD ADVANTAGE PLAN TEST DRIVE PROGRAM
From now through June 1, Ford will be conducting a test-drive program, available to the public in one of two ways. At Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® events, participants will receive a certificate redeemable for a test drive. Certificates will also be available for download at fordcares.com. Anyone can bring the certificates to any participating dealer, take a test-drive and receive a dealer code. After the test-drive, once the test-drive participant has entered the dealer code on fordcares.com, Ford will donate $20 to the Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Each dealership also can opt to match Ford’s donation up to $1,000—so the final combined donation from Ford and its dealers could well exceed $1 million.
RAISE FUNDS FOR MASSACHUSETTS
Together, with your support of this initiative, we can surely raise more than $1 million for Komen and its Affiliates. Help acknowledge the Ford test-drive program by communicating to your entire base of breast cancer supporters with the tools Ford has provided. Assets will be available on Komen Brand Central under Ford Advantage Plan Affiliate Toolkit.
With your participation, we can raise much-needed funds to help fight breast cancer.

Cook for the Cure®

Instead of just auctioning off pink KitchenAid products at Komen fundraisers, KitchenAid encourages Affiliates to create Cook for the Cure auction packages that include KitchenAid appliances as well as provide a cooking/food experience for the highest bidder. An experience like this will raise even more money for the Affiliate, get local chefs/food retailers involved and urge others to help raise money for the breast cancer movement through cooking.
The “experience” can be a number of things. Some examples include: recruiting a local chef to donate cooking lessons to a group of five using food donated by a local market, asking a local cheese expert to offer a private cheese tasting and class for two, finding a local chef who will donate an in-home dinner for eight with wine donated from a local spirit shop, etc. Basically any experience involving food and/or cooking could be a Cook for the Cure auction package.
