Thank you for your interest in benefiting the Massachusetts Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Donations to Komen Massachusetts are an important vehicle in advancing our mission of eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease through research, education, screening and treatment.
For information about fundraisers, please call Lysa Wilkins at (617) 737-5111/ MA Relay 1-800-439-2370
As you plan your event, we would like you to be aware of some guidelines established by our national organization. Please keep in mind that while we are extremely appreciative of your intentions, we need to protect the Komen name and reputation by which you have come to know us. To accomplish this, we have several guidelines and requirements to protect not only our Affiliate, but you as well. We want to make this process as simple as possible. We have Event Guidelines available for you to decide how you’d like to proceed with your event. After reviewing all of the guidelines, please complete an application for Affiliate approval. We promise to get back to you promptly.
There are three ways to host an event to benefit breast cancer and Komen:
1) You can host a Breast Cancer fundraising event without using our name and logo, using instead a generic pink ribbon (which we can provide) and verbiage such as “proceeds to benefit breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.” You can then send us the proceeds and you will receive tax documentation from us. Additionally, we will be happy to provide you with educational materials for your event.
2) In order to have the right to use our name and our logo, you must enter into a Third-Party Letter of Agreement with our Affiliate and abide by all guidelines and insurance requirements. If you are hosting a promotional event through your business and it is limited to 3 months or less, a Third-Party Agreement will suffice.
3) If you would like to partner with Komen Massachusetts for an ongoing and extended time period with a promotional offering through your business, a commercial co-venture agreement is necessary. Please contact Komen Massachusetts to learn how to proceed.
Please be aware that Komen takes on no liability or costs associated with third-party events. We appreciate your interest and your efforts and look forward to working with you.
