Komen Story |
| |
|
Susan G. Komen for the Cure was established in 1982 by Nancy Brinker to honor the memory of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died of breast cancer at the age of 36. Nancy Brinker's life was forever changed by her sister's battle against breast cancer and she vowed to do what she could to fight back. Nancy was also diagnosed with breast cancer within two years of her sister's death. What began as a promise to a dying sister has grown into an international network of people giving their time and talents to keep that promise alive.
